Dell Belger has restored furniture since High School. He has always enjoyed working with wood and antiques. It all began in High School where anytime he had spare time he could be found in the shop class with Mr. Steele, his teacher. Fresh out of school while working "real" jobs he would do a piece for a friend or family member. That grew to the point that a major move had to be made. Don Hayden, a reputable refinisher in the Columbia area passed away, Dell bought the business and Furniture Restorations was born. Since November of 1994 Furniture Restorations has turned out thousands of beautiful restorations. Dell has done the mantels in the Governor's Mansion, a breakfront donated by Siebels Bruce to the Richland County Library, The Dillon County Courthouse, The Darlington County Courthouse, Congaree United Methodist Church, conference tables for DHEC, Nexsen Pruitt Jacobs, and Pollard, Saint Andrews Baptist Church, and many others. Now he is trying to concentrate more on the residential side. Dell takes every piece from start to finish insuring the best results. That personal, hands on attention, is what has made Furniture Restorations successful and will continue that tradition for years to come.
